Part of the "Sorting Out WFH" ING Hubs internal comm campaign, this animation eases into spring break, suggesting ING Hubbers to make the most out of their time by going outside and enjoying the sun. Since this animation popped mid-pandemic when there was still lockdown, we saw it as a relevant reminder for us too.
With different colors assigned to our characters' universes, we split these screens to portray different moments that the protagonists are sharing: a couple is sharing a prosecco, a family of 3 is playing badminton, a group of friends is playing a game of cards and chatting, and a young lady is enjoying the breeze with her dog.
Although they are sharing separate experiences, the frames are visually tied together by the center of the picnic blanket where the elements flow from one frame to another.
While writing the script we were highly inspired by our realities - unfortunately, the only times our team was together would be via video calls to discuss work matters. Sometimes we'd meet on video off-work to cook and have pizza nights, each one from their home.
We were sharing a mutual experience, although we weren't physically together. This is what we tried to encapsulate in our short animation: coworkers sharing the same space/ experience with a split screen, even outdoors.
